How a telehealth ADHD assessment works from start to finish

A telehealth ADHD assessment with a trained GP follows a structured process. Here is exactly what happens at each step.

How a telehealth ADHD assessment works

Step 1: Request an appointment

You fill in a short form on the GP’s listing page. The practice calls you within one business hour.

Step 2: Complete your intake

You receive a secure intake link via Velluto. Complete on your phone: ASRS v1.1 questionnaire, medical and mental health history, childhood symptoms, functional impact.

Step 3: Nominate an observer

You nominate an observer — partner, parent, or friend — who receives their own independent questionnaire.

Step 4: Upload childhood evidence

You upload childhood evidence — school reports, teacher letters — photographed from your phone.

Step 5: GP reviews your summary

Your GP receives a structured clinical summary via Velluto before the appointment: scored questionnaires, observer data, consistency flags.

Step 6: First telehealth appointment

45-minute telehealth video appointment. Your GP is prepared. The conversation starts at what matters.

Step 7: Follow-up and diagnosis

Follow-up appointment 1 to 2 weeks later. Diagnosis confirmed. Treatment plan discussed. GP can prescribe medication directly in Queensland.

Total time from first appointment to diagnosis: typically 2 to 3 weeks.
