Common questions

Before you get in touch

Do I need a GP referral to book an ADHD assessment?

No. You can book directly without a referral from another GP. A referral is not required to claim Medicare rebates for GP consultations under the assessment pathway.

Is telehealth available anywhere in Queensland?

Yes. Telehealth video consultations are available to adults anywhere in Queensland. You need a device with a camera and a stable internet connection. In-person appointments are also available at the Agnes Water clinic.

How long does the assessment process take from booking to diagnosis?

The two-appointment assessment typically runs over one to two weeks from booking. You complete your intake at home before your first appointment. The first consultation is approximately 45 minutes, the second approximately 30 minutes. Your GP will discuss the outcome at the second appointment.

What is the maximum out-of-pocket cost for the full assessment?

The maximum out-of-pocket cost across both assessment consultations is $600 after Medicare rebates ($350 for the first appointment, $250 for the second). This does not include ongoing medication management appointments. Fees verified March 2026.
